Anna Henry at Lovers Oak
On July 23, Anna Henry and I drove around Old town Brunswick.  This something I have wanted to do for a long time but I was busy working.  Well one thing I can say about cancer is it stops you in your tracks and make you think.  For the first few month all I could do was get through the chemo.  I did get out to see a few birds.  Painted Bunting just lifted my spirits.  I also continue to coordinate the Plover Patrol.  I had some wonderful folks that volunteered.  It was great to have that to lift me up.  Now, Anna suggested we do this tour of old town & I jump at the opportunity.
Lovers oak in on Prince Street.  It is said to be around 750 years old.  Live oaks are very old lived.

Hanover Square is one of seven squares that old town Brunswick is built around.
Here is the fountain in the square I wonder if warblers might like this migration?

Anna &  I spent a lot of our time look at architecture.  There some neat architecture to look for on each of the street south of Gloucester Street (the main street)                                                                                                                                             After an exciting time looking around we had a great lunch at Indigo Coastal Shanty Restaurant.   Great food served by wonderful people.                                                           Below is another eating place we found
We continued our tour and we found this new Deli Bakery.  They are working on opening the Deli but the Bakery is open!
It is found at 801 Egmont Street. Warning it isn't open on Saturday  We had to simple their breads and muffins. It is a great place to end the exploration of Old town Brunswick and it's squares.  On the way home, we stopped at Overlook place to look at spoonbills and White Pelicans.  Thanks Anna for the fun day and a few birds.
